Hi! I’m Sharon, and I created Tutor Writes as a practical writing-help space for students.

As an English tutor, I know that many students do not struggle because they are “bad writers.” They struggle because writing is complicated. Essays require ideas, organization, evidence, grammar, formatting, confidence, and time — all at once.

This blog is here to slow that process down.

My goal is to explain writing in plain English, offer useful examples, and help students understand what to look for in their own drafts. I focus on helping students build skills rather than simply giving answers.
